Patrick Mahomes versus Josh Allen Part IV
On a frigid night at Highmark Stadium, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills defeated Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens 27-25 in the divisional round, setting up another epic Bills-Chiefs showdown in the AFC championship. This will be the fourth meeting in the postseason between Allen and Patrick Mahomes, and if history is any indication, it’s going to be a thrilling matchup.
A Rivalry for the Ages
Mahomes currently holds a perfect 3-0 record against Allen in the postseason. In 2020, the Chiefs defeated the Bills 38-24 in the AFC championship. The following year, the Chiefs won in the famous 13 seconds game in the divisional round, defeating the Bills 42-36 in overtime. In 2023, the Chiefs once again came out on top, winning against the Bills 27-24 in the divisional round.
While the first two matchups took place in Kansas City, last season’s game was played in Buffalo. Now, the stage is set for their fourth encounter in Kansas City, and both quarterbacks are ready to give it their all.
Bills’ First Victory
Although Mahomes has had the upper hand so far, the Bills managed to hand the Chiefs their first loss of the season back in Week 11. Led by Allen, Buffalo secured a 30-21 victory over Mahomes and company. After the game, Mahomes promised Allen that they would meet again, and he was right. This will be the rematch they’ve been waiting for.
Another Classic in the Making
As these two talented quarterbacks face off once again, football fans can expect another instant classic. Mahomes and Allen have demonstrated their ability to deliver thrilling performances on the big stage, and this matchup promises to be no exception.
